James, I just listened to this video and Atheist v Christian Round 2 and I am rejoicing with great joy to hear that you are now a living sacrifice! In some ways your story is mine. I was passionate for Christ as a child, walked away because of Christians, and rediscovered the joy of my salvation through apologetics. Listening to you talking to your friend is clear proof that He restores the years the locust has eaten! Since you are such an avid reader and a philosopher, I recommend The Divine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard. And for further discussion with Sven check out Bruxy Cavey (The Meeting House) "Pointing At Jesus". He has a brilliantly practical approach to sharing Jesus with a friend who is willing to acknowledge Jesus is a great teacher. N.T.Wright's "The Resurrection of the Son of God" is a magnificent resource. And finally, I hope you will check out Reasons to Believe. Hugh Ross's perspective on creation and Fuz Rana's understanding of human history will give you a fuller view of the wide range of belief within the Christian community.
